Horses pretty much keep me sane. :)
I get ideas and thoughts from a variety of 'methods'; I strive to always have an open mind, yet be able to acknowledge when something doesn't feel right. I appreciate the importance of the process of getting to where we want to be with horses, and not just the final product- and how that idea connects to the interactions between ourselves and the people and environments that surround us in our daily lives.

My Journey
2001-2004
First few riding lessons one spring at Langs Horse and Pony Farm, and summer day camps at Sandamar Farm. Exposed to and intrigued by the concept of 'natural horsemanship' when I read an article about Pat and Linda Parelli.
April-Devember 2005
Riding lessons/Italian pony club with Daria Bruzzone at Centro Equestre Veneto in Mogliano Veneto, Italy where my family lived for a year.
Summer 2005
Riding lessons at Sandamar Farm when I return home for the summer.
January 2006-Present
Volunteering at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center.
April 2006-December 2007
Introduced to dressage with riding lessons at Dressage Dancers Riding Stable in Bellevue, WA. Begin to learn about parelli groundwork, playing with various horses in the neighborhood.
Summer 2006
Work at Summer Camp at Sandamar Farm, introduced to clicker training and reinforcement training by Amy Lacy.
January 2007
Created the Natural Dressage Forum to learn more about the combination of Dressage and Natural Horsemanship from people with similar interest.
Summer 2007, Summer 2008
Help plan and run Dressage Dancers summer camp.
Summer 2007
Compete in Intro and Training Level Lake Washington Saddle Club Schooling Shows on Dressage Dancers school horses. Awarded Saddle Club End of the Year Awards for Intro Level 1st Place Rider, Training Level Test 1+2 4th Place Rider and Junior High Point Rider.
August 2007, October 2007
Audit Terry Church clinics and become exposed to her work of dressage done with 'natural' principles in mind.
December 2007- Present
Begin riding with the community at Charlottewood Equestrian Center, where the WA Terry Church clinics are held.
Various Intervals between December 2007- Spring 2009
Lessons with students of Terry; Jana Steffan, Laura McGillicuddy.
2008- Present
Ride regularly in Terry Church clinics.
June 2009
Shadow Megan Ayrault to be introduced and exposed to equine massage work.
July-August 2009
Spend 5 weeks with Julie Straka as a working student on White Horse Farm in Mequon, WI.
November 2009
Awarded educational grant from the Equestrians' Institute to clinic with Terry Church in California.
